She was in born in St. Marys, WV on February 4, 1936 the middle child of the late Nellie Bennett Park and Donald E. Park. Mary attended St. Marys High School and graduated in 1953. She was a member of the marching band where she played French horn, was a majorette, and attained first chair French horn in the WV All State Orchestra all four years of high school. Mary was awarded a full music scholarship from West Virginia University. She was truly touched by God with the gift of music. After high school she worked at American Cyanamid. She was organist at age 17 for the St. Marys Methodist Church.
Mary found the love of her life in husband Rannie Allen. They were blessed with over 57 years of marriage. Together they raised three children. She made her new home in Pennsboro, WV and immediately embraced her church and community. For many years, she was active in Rannie’s business-Allen’s Pontiac, Buick, GMC of Pennsboro, WV. She has been a member and organist for the Pennsboro United Methodist Church since 1960. She served on various committees, boards, and supported her church in every way she could.
When her children were young Mary was active in the PTA at Creed Collins Elementary School and served as PTA president. She was a member of the Pennsboro High School Band Boosters and served as President.
After raising her three kids, Mary went to work as city clerk of Pennsboro, WV and served 27 years in this position, retiring in 2008 as the longest serving city clerk in town history. The state of WV honored Mary with the American’s Creed by William Tyler Page which recognizes American exceptionalism. After retirement she went on to become Mayor of Pennsboro, WV and served as the first female Mayor of the town from July 2012-June 2014.
During her life, Mary also served organizations in various capacities including Pennsboro Industrial Park Board, Parkersburg Area Community Foundation-Ritchie County Board of Directors, Order of the Eastern Star, Pennsboro Woman’s Club, WV Highway Safety Commission Ritchie County Delegate, Charter member of Pennsboro Athletic Boosters, and many others.
Mary is survived by her loving husband Rannie Allen of Pennsboro, WV, three children, Sabrina Ehle (husband Steve) of Williamstown, WV, Tami Bingaman (husband John) of McKinney, TX, and Patrick Allen (wife Tina) of Pennsboro, WV. Mary has four grandchildren, Logan & Baylee Bingaman of McKinney, TX, Emma Ehle of Williamstown, WV, and Riley Allen of Pennsboro, WV. She is also survived by her sister in law whom she considered her sister, Mary Frances Park of Belmont, WV, along with many nieces and nephews. Her family was the light of her life.
Mary was preceded in death by both parents in 1994 and her sister Elsie Park Wright of St. Marys, WV in 1961 and her brother Max Park of Belmont, WV in April 2017.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 3pm to 8pm at McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro, WV. Funeral services will be at Pennsboro United Methodist Church on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 1:30pm with visitation beginning at 12:30pm.
